Raku
Raku stands for ceramics that is fired in Japanese origin. The work made by students, gets fired in a primitive gas kiln. The quickness of the process and its primitive character gives the work a spontaneity and an extraordinary directness. The whole process of making, firing, reducing in a barrel filled with hay and cooling down in water, is an intense experience.
